Grocery Store Opera
A routine day of shopping for groceries at John Lewis Foodhall from Waitrose turned into a grocery store opera when five singers performed a rousing rendition of the Italian classic Funiculì, Funiculà. This creative and fun musical flash mob is from Sacla’ the Pesto Pioneers and Italian foodies favourite brand who served up a great surprise by staging this impromptu Opera in the food aisles. How cool would it be to have opera singers perform each time you went shopping for groceries.

Ohio State Flash MobNothing can cheer you up on a lousy day like a good old flash mob. A group of people gathers in a crowd of unassuming onlookers and without warning breaks out in dance, freezes, or engages in some other out of the ordinary activity. It’s surprising, it’s bizarre, and it’s just downright awesome.

Students and staff at Ohio State University recently uploaded the latest flash mob clip to YouTube and it has inspired us to share some of our favorite flash mob videos with you. We hope you enjoy!

Starting with a single cellist on the floor of the National Air and Space Museum's Milestones of Flight gallery and swelling to 120 musicians, The United States Air Force Band exhilarated museum visitors yesterday with its first-ever flash mob. The four-minute performance featured an original arrangement of "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring/Joy to the World," led by the Band's commander and conductor, Col. Larry H. Lang. Unsuspecting museum visitors including tourists and school groups were astonished as instrumentalists streamed into the gallery from behind airplanes and space capsules, and vocalists burst into song from the Museum's second floor balcony. Also available in high definition (Executive Producer: Col. Larry H. Lang)

British Army musicians flash mob: "All Together Now"

https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10154820318000615

British Army musicians have entertained unsuspecting passers-by with a flash mob performance in Birmingham's City Centre.

The Band of the Royal Corps of Signals were playing It’s A Long Way To Tipperary in Victoria Square when they were joined by musicians from the Band of The King’s Division, and the tune turned to Keep the Home Fires Burning. The combined bands then played The Farm’s, All Together Now.

As the flash mob unfolded, members of the Shawbury Military Wives Choir, Cosford Military Wives Choir and the Midlands Military Community Choir joined in with a surprise sing-along.

In support of The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal, there was a distinctly red theme to the unexpected event. Choir members wore something red to match their poppies.

The flash mob was made possible with funding from the Armed Forces Community Covenant grant fund. The fund aims to encourage local communities and the Armed Forces Community to help and support each other.

The Corps of Army Music is the largest employer of professional musicians in the UK. Read more about what they do, and how to join the professionals, at http://www.army.mod.uk/music.

Commuters at the always busy Central Railway Station in Sydney are in for a HUGE surprise. In the following video, a teenage boy in black steps his way into the center of the shuffling travelers and starts dancing to some traditional Irish music.

Moments later, it’s clear he’s not the only one in on this amazing surprise. Within minutes, the busy station was transformed into a scene from Riverdance for a truly once in a lifetime show.

How awesome would it be to catch this surprise on St. Paddy’s Day?
